Benefits of Membership

Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue is currently looking for new volunteers to join our department. If you are looking to learn new skills and have a desire to serve your community we would love to talk with you about serving. The following are the minimum requirements for becoming a member of our department:

Minimum Age 18 Years Old ( We have a junior program for those 16-17 years of age)
Live within the Maggie Valley Fire District
Possess a valid NC drivers license
Complete a criminal background check (No felony record)
Submit an application
Attend regular meetings
Favoral vote of the membership
Participation in the NC Fire and Rescue Workers Retirement
Membership in the NC State Firefighter's Association (NCSFA)
Learn valuable life savings skills
Can obtain certifications in many areas such as Firefighter, Rescue Technician, EMT and others
